I finally got to hit the town with Penny! After several months of saying we would do something, we finally got some tickets to Cabaret at the Lesher Arts Center. It was a great show, and we had a great time. The show was well cast, and the set was very impressive.
I tell you all this to admit to a second indiscretion this week. We went to Chili's. And I had a half order of Texas Cheese Fries. I thought I had avoided a major catastrophe at lunch (Va de Vi in Walnut Creek, had the roasted chicken marinated in lemon and thyme) but the Chili's stop broke me down. Later, I found out that the Texas Chili Fries have a whopping 1,400 calories in a HALF ORDER. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
I also missed my training appointment. Jill had moved it to 5:30 so that I could go to dinner with Penny before the show, but I didn't see the invite on my calendar so showed up at 6:00. She told me I had some 'splainin to do. Damn. Then I was frustrated, and didn't run the 3 miles I was scheduled to. Long story short, the wheels were falling off the bus, and I was feeling pretty crappy about the day when I went to bed.
This morning wasn't much better. I got up late, and got into the office at 11 with some lunch from the Boston Market. Damn, it is hard not to get those mashed potatoes, but I did get the steamed vegetables and a 1/4 white. All good stuff. I ate again when I got home from the office at 6:30, a full 7 hours after my last meal, so I was completely against the plan.
As a reminder of my dedication to this plan, I forced myself to run 8.5 miles tonight, instead of the 3 miles that was on my schedule. That's an additional 825 calories. Hopefully will cancel out yesterday. Hopefully.
