Hanging out in Chicago

Flew out to Chicago yesterday to meet with a client team here.  This is one of my neverending projects; I just can't get the open action items closed.  Zaps my energy... after the last year or so, I really just need it to end.  Got barely any sleep past night...

Apart from that, I found out that there are charity slots open for the Ironman in Florianopolis, Brazil, but they are going for $1,300 - half to register and half to a charity.  I am seriously considering it, and I know if I do that, I am all in.  It's the event I want, so more to come!

Today, I realized that skipping two weeks of training, one of which includes the coveted 20-miler, can do nothing more than set oneself up for pain and suffering. And showing up late to training and running only 9 of the 10 miles in a recovery week can't be good either. But here I am, and here we go.

Next week's training run is 23 miles. To keep consistant with my training program, I will have to run 11 1/2 miles on Tuesday and Thursday. About 2 hours each day, maybe a little more. I'll need something to listen too.

I want to sign up for some personal training classes. At this point, I have 10 weeks and a few days to my birthday. I'd like to take that time and really focus on building up my upper body. Unfortunately, even with the special at the gym at the office, it's still $330 for 6 weeks.

I know that also means I will need to eat ELMO style hardcore.

All these thoughts.. not sure where to go.

Bike Measurements

Just measured out my inseam at 83cm, which gives me a bike size of 54".

Found this on eBay. Closed for $890. Just missed it.

I'm working to build up my biking stamina through October in the gym on the stationaries. Hope I get at least some degree of build up from that.

Goal: To get my bike by my birthday, August 29th.

Signed up!

Signed up for the Conservatory 5K and I am ready to go. Might have to walk it, but I am doing it to meet my first goal on my strategy.
