Sore Thighs & Running Highs

The 5 and 10 milers over the weekend, then the 3/5/3 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, adding on a new training plan, and switching my eating all built up. By Thursday afternoon, my thighs were absolutely killing me, to the point I barely made it through my run on Thursday.

I took my rest day yesterday, and I think I felt my body change up where it was getting energy. I've been very good with my eating - at least 6 mini-meals (not McDonald's) a day, about 200 - 250 calories each. I've been averaging 1600 calories a day or so. So today, I took a walk to get my haircut and then stopped by the Pleasant Hill Farmer's Market. Got some great strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. MMMM.. so good. And the walk seemed to loosen up my thighs.

Fueled up with some mulitgrain Cheerios with 1% milk, and some of them blueberries when I got home, and 3 hours later I was off on my way for a 5 miler.

It went very well. For the first time in a long time, I did not get any significant cramping in my left calf, which was a very welcome change. Was just cruising at the end, right up to the Chevron station where I used the gift card my client gave me for doing a good job to buy a chocolate milk. Was probably too many calories, but it was such a welcome refreshment.
