Nike+ Human Race Race Report

Ok, this was an unusual one - as a race, and as a runner.

This was the first Nike+ race (at least that I know of). There were races in cities all over the world, but runners could also participate using the Nike + system from your own city. I decided to do the latter some time ago, but I didn't realize the number of hours I would need to be working at that same time.

The project I have been managing over the last year finally "went live" over the holiday weekend. That meant that I got to spend four very long days on site, working through the conversion of data from one system to the other. By the end of the third day - the day of this race - I have to admit I was pretty beat. But I wanted to complete this race.

I basically ran the 10k from 10:30 pm until about 11:35 on my normal 8 mile loop. After completing that 10k, I walked a bit, then followed up with a final mile run. It was exhausting - but rewarding to know that I completed what I signed up to do.
