I had a very good 7 mile run this evening. Ended up at a 11:13 pace, which would be a 4:54 marathon. I felt I was hitting maybe 80% effort, and felt like I could keep going. I'd say that's not bad for halfway through training. I'd really like to hit under 5 hours this time out. I am going to keep up the same program, and we'll see how it goes.

I got a note that I am now released from the waiting list for the Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon on July 21. Great news, but it comes in just two weeks before the San Francisco Marathon. Not sure if it a good idea or not. I am scheduled to do 8 that day, and I would do 4 the Thursday before - so maybe I can combine them. I know I can't take it all out, but who would want to through the beautiful wine country? I will be a beautiful training run if nothing else.
Off to feed myself a nice little steak... got to feed the muscles some protien!
